Jacket Size Calculator

Match men's height and chest or women's chest and hips to published US letter and EU numeric jacket sizes using six measurement units.

Use the measurements required by the selected chart

The men's chart combines standing height with chest circumference. The women's chart combines chest and hip circumferences. The form shows only the independent measurements needed for the selected chart, instead of asking for duplicate or derived size fields.

Measure close to the body

For chest circumference, keep a flexible tape level under the armpits around the fullest part of the chest while standing straight and relaxed. For hips, measure the widest part of the hips and buttocks with the feet together. Avoid measuring over ordinary clothing and repeat the measurement if tape placement is uncertain.

Let the larger required measurement control

Each applicable measurement is matched conservatively to the largest published chart row whose lower boundary it reaches. This resolves overlapping chart ranges toward the roomier row. If height suggests one row and chest suggests a larger row, or chest and hips disagree on the women's chart, the calculator recommends the larger row so the tighter measurement is not ignored.

Read US and EU labels as chart designations

US results use letter sizes while EU results use even-numbered jacket sizes. They are paired labels from the published chart, not direct unit conversions. The same letter can cover more than one EU row, so retain the EU number when comparing products.

Confirm the seller's own size chart

There is no universal jacket sizing standard. Brand grading, garment cut, fabric, intended ease, insulation and layering can change the best fit. A boundary match is a chart recommendation rather than a guarantee; use the manufacturer chart and returns policy before purchasing.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about men's and women's jacket measurements, US and EU size labels, chart matching, boundary cases, and brand-specific fit.

Which measurements determine men's jacket size?

Use standing height and chest circumference. The calculator finds the chart row required by each measurement and selects the larger row so a tighter chest or greater height is not ignored.

Which measurements determine women's jacket size?

Use chest and hip circumferences. Measure chest around the fullest part and hips around the widest part with feet together, then use the larger chart row required by the two measurements.

What men's jacket size fits 5 feet 11 inches and a 106-centimeter chest?

The published chart places that combination at about US XL and EU 54. A chest nearer 113 centimeters can move the recommendation to EU 56 even though the US letter remains XL.

What does women's US M correspond to?

In the published chart, women's US M corresponds to EU 38, typically covering an 86-89 centimeter chest and 96-98 centimeter hips.

Why can two EU sizes have the same US letter?

The chart sometimes pairs one broad US letter with two adjacent EU rows. Keep the EU number when comparing products because the letter alone can hide that difference.

Why might a brand recommend a different jacket size?

Jacket sizing is not universal. Brand grading, garment cut, fabric, intended ease, insulation, layering, and measurement technique can change the best fit, so the seller's own chart should make the final decision.
