Glove Size Calculator

Use this glove size with glove size chart, hand circumference below the knuckles, and chart rounding method to get fast results, understand the formula...

Measure around the palm below the knuckles

Lay the dominant hand flat and wrap a flexible tape around the widest part of the palm just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Keep the tape comfortably snug. If using string or paper, mark the overlap and measure it with a ruler.

Use the rounded circumference with the matching chart

The default method rounds the hand circumference upward to the next half inch before assigning the general letter and numeric size. Men's and unisex ranges differ from women's ranges, so the same hand measurement can produce a different letter size.

Treat the result as a starting point for material gloves

Sizing varies by manufacturer, glove material, lining, intended fit, finger length, hand shape, and product type. This chart is intended for ordinary material gloves or mittens, not baseball gloves, baby mittens, specialized kitchen gloves, or safety gloves governed by hazard-specific standards.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about measuring palm circumference, half-inch rounding, men's/unisex and women's charts, numeric sizes, reverse lookup, brand variation, and glove types.

Where should I measure my hand for glove size?

Measure around the widest part of your dominant palm just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Keep the tape comfortably snug rather than tight.

Why does the calculator round to a half inch?

The general chart uses half-inch steps. Rounding upward follows the source method and helps avoid choosing a size smaller than the measured circumference; nearest-half rounding is available for comparison.

Why do men's/unisex and women's charts give different letters?

The letter bands are defined differently. The same numeric hand circumference can therefore map to a different letter size depending on the chart used by the product.

What does numeric glove size mean?

For this general chart, the numeric size is the hand circumference in inches after the selected half-inch rounding method. Brand-specific numeric sizing may use different conventions.

Can I look up the hand range for an existing glove size?

Yes. Open the reverse-lookup section and select the glove letter. The calculator shows the general hand-circumference range for the active men's/unisex or women's chart.

Does this calculator work for safety or sports gloves?

Not reliably. It is intended for ordinary material gloves or mittens. Baseball gloves, baby mittens, specialized kitchen gloves, and hazard-rated safety gloves use product-specific sizing and standards.
